چکیده

There are large deposits of waste materials from various industrial or building activity all over the world. Out this enormous quantity waste, a little amount gets recycled, while rest is dumped in vulnerable places. This paper examines potential use subbase, including recycled chips derived polyethylene terephthalate plastics and cement kiln dust resulting Portland industry as by-product. Samples were formed by blending fractions 0, 4, 6, 8% with without 3% (CKD) required weight subbase soil. The influence terms strength was evaluated using CBR values, which exhibited descending values increasing contents. While addition CKD significantly enlarged values. Based on 4% blend commended for layer roads construction.

Utilization of Cement Kiln Dust and Fly Ash in Cement Blends in Saudi Arabia

Cement kiln dust produced in a local cement production plant in Saudi Arabia, along with fly ash resulting from combustion of heavy fuel oil in a local power generation plant were utilized as waste materials blended with ordinary Portland cement at various ratios. These blends were tested for their water requirements for normal consistency, initial setting times, and compression and tensile str...

Carbon dioxide sequestration in cement kiln dust through mineral carbonation.

Carbon sequestration through the formation of carbonates is a potential means to reduce CO2 emissions. Alkaline industrial solid wastes typically have high mass fractions of reactive oxides that may not require preprocessing, making them an attractive source material for mineral carbonation The degree of mineral carbonation achievable in cement kiln dust (CKD) underambienttemperatures and press...
